Arista Winery was founded by Al and Janis McWilliams in 2002 with a mission to craft artisanal, site driven Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley. From the beginning the McWilliams have firmly believed that the finest examples of Pinot Noir are produced in small lots. This belief has led to an emphasis on quality over quantity and a determination to discover and develop unique vineyard sites that reflect the distinct characteristics of the Russian River Valley. Arista Winery estate also features a one acre organic garden, a thriving brood of multiple breeds of American Heritage hens, and serves as the base for honey and olive oil production. From a recent article from Wine Spectator, James Laube notes that with “the arrival of winemaker Matt Courtney, Arista has achieved what many wineries only hope for-to take their game up a notch.” See our offering of this great 2013 pinot at 94pts in the “shop” section.
